From a Michigan tree farm to Dr. Phillips

Since 1984, our family has sold fresh-cut North Carolina Fraser firs in Central Florida.

A family business

Three generations of the Poma family have grown, sold and delivered Christmas trees.

  1. 1965: The farm

Sebastiano Poma loved Christmas and family. In 1965 he bought an 80-acre Christmas tree farm in Clare, Michigan. He worked the fields himself and trucked his trees to Detroit to sell.

  2. 1984: The lot

His son Ciro moved to Orlando and saw that no one sold premium trees. In 1984, with his wife Giovanna and the family behind him, he opened Ciro & Sons in Dr. Phillips.

  3. Today: The sons

Ciro's three sons, Sebastiano, Antonino and Marcello, run the lot now. They keep doing what their father and grandfather taught them, for families who come back every year.

Why we only sell Fraser firs

No tree beats a Fraser fir for smell, shape and how long it holds its needles. Ours grow high in the North Carolina mountains, and every one is USDA Premium grade.

We started as growers. Today we buy from family-owned farms in North Carolina, the same way our neighbors here support us. That takes a kind of care you will not find at a big box store.
